The Traditional Bowhunters of British Columbia is a Province wide organization made up of individuals who promote and upgrade the sport of traditional archery. The TBBC's strength stems from conservation minded people who band together to form a strong unified voice in matters vital to traditional bowhunting, education and legislation. The TBBC members recognize that our youth are the future and the continuation of archery as a lifestyle. The primary focus for the TBBC is the need to involve youth in our programs. The Traditional Archery Rendesvous (3D Shoots) have a distinct family atmosphere and provide opportunity for knowledge to be passed down from our elders. The TBBC have numerous qualified IBEP instructors located throughout the province. TBBC volunteers conduct local workshops and teach formal bowhunting training courses to improve the knowledge and skills of the province's bowhunters.
The TBBC also contribute monies annually to educational bursaries and children's hospitals around the province.
These are spring, summer and fall activities designed to keep your shooting eye from becoming lazy and improve your archery skills. These are strictly traditional shoots allowing the use of longbow, recurve and selfbows only. Targets are life size 3-D animal targets with TBBC scoring of 5-10 and 0. The events also host Novelty Shoots with an emphasis on fun. These shoots comprise of two day and some one day shoots in different regions of the Province and are advertised in the TBBC newsletter "Off the Shelf" and in the events section on our website. Camping and outdoor activities make these events family oriented and fun for all.
